TV series — Parks and Recreation

The Parks and Recreation department of a small fictional town named Pawnee (Indiana) is where this series takes place. Leslie Knope is the ambitious deputy director who can’t and won’t ever catch a break. While some of her co-workers love their job, the others just fool around all day long. But in the end they all work for the same goal and make you laugh so hard while doing that since everyone of them has their lovable quirks. You also get so see their personal lifes, which feature some of the most funny and absurd storylines you can imagine.

Note: if you start watching it you might not like the first few episodes very much, but I promise you’ll start to love everything about it right after you got to know the characters in all their glory. It’s one of my most recommended comedy series.

Genre: Comedy, Mockumentary, Political satire
Channel: NBC
Running time: 20 min

I love it because: of Leslie and Ann’s friendship, the way the stories move me emotionally, and every character for what they bring to the table — Leslie’s over-the-top thinking and madness, Ann being Leslie’s rational counterpart, April’s evilness, Chris’ insane positivity, Andy’s childishness, Ben being like a male American version of my true self, and of course Ron for everything he is.

Favorite character: Leslie Knope. I admire how driven and positive she is and stays regardless of any obstacle. She finds enormous joy in her work, which I do too, so I can perfectly relate to that flash of energy running through her head all the time.

You might enjoy it if you liked: Modern Family, 30 Rock, The Office, Community

  1. Oh, it’s final that next year’s season will be the last one? That’s sad. I really like this show. But better now than too late, like e.g. “The Office”.
